Re. 1 Coin to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of the Reserve Bank of India
In my previous blog post, I discussed Platinum Jubilee of the RBI and the various commemorative coins released to mark the occasion, particularly the Rs. 10 Coin that was put into circulation.
This post is about the Re.1 Coin, which was one of the 5 denominations that was put into circulation to commemorate the RBI's 75th anniversary. It has a mono-metallic design and is comprised primarily of iron (and chromium in small portions).

This coin is minted in Hyderabad, as you can see from the star-shaped motif below the year(s) signifying the Platinum Jubilee period.

The RBI's original press release about the coins commemorating its Platinum Jubilee can be accessed through this link.
